I have worked as a qualified Primary school teacher for 16 years, working with children in education for 30 years...
I have taught children Mindfulness meditation and Mindful yoga through story and music in schools and workshops at festivals.


I have completed Mindfulness and Mindful Yoga training...I practice mindfulness and mindful healing yoga every day and it has been a part of my life for 12 years. I see and feel the healing and benefits of Mindfulness with Mindful yoga in my own life, helping me to be more compassionate, kind, caring, loving, peaceful, forgiving and walking in loving kindness for myself and others, embracing the present moment of ‘now’ (all we ever have is Now!) Being aware in the moment enables us to live our lives to the full with all our sense perceptions, feeling deeply the awareness of ‘what is’ Now! 


The benefits of mindfulness with children
Mindfulness training increases children's ability to self-regulate their emotions, especially difficult emotions such as fear and anger, through breathing and other grounding techniques. It helps to calm the mind and body, teaching kids to be present in the moment, with acceptance to ‘what is.’ Teaching them to respond in loving kindness and self compassion rather than reacting.

The beauty and Healing of Yoga and Stories...
Using story with Yoga integrates the healing qualities of yoga with the mind and heart enhancing powers of storytelling. It helps children’s natural awareness to move about freely, explore their innate creativity and act on their curiosity to learn more about the world. Children love stories and love to act them out which enhances their language and listening skills, sparks their creativity and imagination and helps them to interact with others in a safe environment. Research has shown that children who practice yoga tend to relax more and are better able to concentrate at school. Yoga brings health enhancing benefits such as – greater muscular strength, flexibility spine and joint health. These benefits trickle into the mental area by increasing attention, concentration, inner peace, relaxation and a sense of overall calm and focus.
